I was able to go to life drawing again this week....usually, I can only go every other week, but I'm not complaining. :cat: This is a drawing of the long pose (2 hours)........I kinda like it....I think.
Oh, and I won't forget the butt icon this time, Bernie. :D

Very nice! Love that dark area in the background that is ready to engulf her.

Thanks for all the nice remarks and comments....it's helped me see it a bit differently. :) Last night I wasn't too sure what I thought of it. Sort of liked it, sort of didn't, lol. This morning I'm on the 'I like it' side. :D
Pauline, I was asked to frame it to put in with the TAFA (Tacoma Academy of Fine Arts) student show coming up in June, so I may do that. It's a matter of finding the right frame around here. I've dumped enought $ into framing lately and can't justify more at the moment. Gotta sell something first! :)
Madgb25, it was a calm setting....she was quite tired and found a pose where she was comfortable enough to fall asleep. :D Very of nice for us artists....she didn't need as many breaks! :D

We don't want you complaining about drawing two weeks in a row Pat
It's a lovely, complete picture... and it shows your skills.

Excellent drawing.
Is this a open drawing studio, or a class? I've been looking for open drawing closer than seattle with no luck.

Gorgeous drawing; I like the smile on her sleeping face, and the way you've handled the 'skin drapery.' :D Very soft treatment, has an almost tactile appeal.
Some folks find great frames very cheaply in second-hand shops, btw. (Just discard the painting! )Good luck -- this should definitely be framed and shown.

Thank you for your kind comments, Carol, Mac, Jamie, Dawn and NWP. :) I appreciate your taking time to post your thoughts.
Jamie, the drawing is on a piece of 18 x 24" (approx.) paper with a lovely woven type texture. While it didn't take to a kneaded eraser very well, I still liked the embossed 'weave' of it.
NorWestPainter -- this is an open studio where we all chip in to pay for the model. The owner of the studio is the artist/wife of the artist/man who is head of the Tacoma Academy of Fine Arts. Where are you located? I'm just outside of Tacoma about half hour away from this studio.

Hiya Pat,
That's a wonderful drawing. I especially like the composition you have created with the drapes as a backdrop and also as a contrast for the figure. i know how difficult it is to find a nice pose/view of the model in a crowded life class. Unless you get there early, you usually wind up with a back view or profile. Very nice drawing Pat. Hal

Oh, I can see that linen-like texture now! Thanks for the size info. It looks like a pastel paper that Daler-Rowney makes, which I like a lot for pastels and figure drawing!

I'm in Sumner, but work in Tacoma. I tried to google Tacoma Academy of Fine Arts but couldn't find anything.

Jesse, you probably won't as it's brand new and being started by a local couple. If you want contact with them, let me know and I'll see what I can do. We can communicate about it through private messages, here, if you like.
