View Full Version : G with acanthus leaves, knotwork

This is a lombardic g with Acanthus leaves and two differing panels of knotwork. Once again, it is in ballpoint. (hope you aren't wretching, it's the tool of choice for when I'm not at home) The top is congested, I know, but the bottom isn't too bad, I think. The picture isn't very good, but I don't have a scanner, so it's the best I can do... :crying:

No way am I wretching! This is really good. Thanks for the details on the knots (we are knot crazy in this forum lately and love them). The leaves also look good! I like the shading effects that you've used. Good job! - Chris

Ballpoint?! I'm not retching, I'm in awe! Very impressive.

We are not knot crazy! that becomes a double negative which means we *are* crazy... o wait, bad punning. sorry. :o :D The knots are lovely.

It's a great design... and maybe it is a bit top-heavy... but to my eye, I think you could balance it out really easily by boxing it in on the sides and bottom, allowing the top to flow freely out of the box. It would continue the illusion of the letter itself growing out of it's boundaries. Hope that made sense, my coffee doesn't have me quite up to speed yet.

Very nice work!
