This started as an pastel piece, but now I've added acrylics.
It still needs quite a bit of work, but so far:

Any ideas to better this would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

The subject is sooo cute. The temptation of splashing in puddles :D Looking great Jonifaye.

Thanks all of you! I work at a preschool and have five daughters.........so.......it's something that I can relate to pretty well.
I'm going to fix the little one's boots and try to smooth it out in places--would love to hear what else should be worked on from anyone.

The background is a deeper blue--I shouldn't have used a flash.
Hope to post a better one soon.

I like it, I'd think about doing some reflection of the slickers and maybe a bit of the umbrella but I'm not sure where to put it, and the little guys foot looks to small, but that adds to the whimsical look...hhmmm maybe not change anything??

I should have checked in before this picture was taken, but I'll add some more and smooth it out---and maybe make the little one's boots yellow again? (maybe not) Advice is always welcome--I won't learn otherwise. Thanks!

Very sweet, and yellow boots would be better I think.

This is such a wonderful and fun piece that I hate to say anything negative, and
I know it may be too late to change but I think that the back ground would be better with vertical strokes instead of horizontal.

Thanks all-- I appreciate the comments and advice. I had the same vertical thought and made the background strokes that way at one point, but it didn't look right for some reason, so I blended them in and went horizontal again...it's an unusual background anyway, so maybe it fits ok. (?)
Here's where it's at and will have to stay for now since I'll be away for a few days....any more advice for me to complete this then would be great.
Thanks!
Joni
