I wanted to share this painting I did of Maria as a little girl in Skinny's Digital Buddies thread...

The ref was so cute!... my only goal was to try and maintain that.

Great job as always Joel. Just one thing that seems off to me is the viewers/left eye. The inner corner seems too wide and slightly higher set than it should be. The iris seems a bit too far towards the inner corner also.

Thankya Darlin.:) Sherry, when you're right, you're right. Isn't it strange how these things seem glaring once someone mentions them? Thanks for your keen eye... I will fix.:)

I think this is better, but still think the iris should be a little more to the left in the eye and maybe a little more curvature on the lower lid? I can't quite put my finger on it but the alignment of the eyes dosen't seem right. Ummm, I know these are really picky picky nit piks! But it's almost as if the eyes are looking in two different directions.

To tell the truth, I doubt most would even notice.

Okay, it was bugging me so I went to d/l Marias picture. I think that what is bothering me now is the right eye. The lower lid curve of the eye from the corner outward dips too far down I think. Just the tiniest little difference, but I think would make a big difference in overall appearance. In her picture that part of her eye is very hard to see.

Ummm, feel free to tell me shut up now.....well, I will anyway.:D

Are you sure that only the ref image was cute? J/K.

Thats so sweet. I love the hair...and the eyes. You have painted it better than the ref. Yup. BTW, I am not sure about my age in this pic as I never bother to remember..lol. But I remember one thing, I was in grade 4...mmm, let me guess. May be 7 or 8.

Thank you so much to paint my portrait. I adore it.
