I took a quick dip in the paint just to get my fingers wet before i forgot how completely. I think this was a WDE reference but shame on me I can't remember whose.

Sherry, I love the colors in the sky. The water is well rendered. Good work.

Hmmm love those colors in the sky....wish i could be there laying in the sand, feel the wind blowing, seeing the seagulls pass and hear the ocean in a seashell.....

Sherry.....is there any chance you could provide some full-size samples of the water? I have so much trouble with it, and you've done it perfectly. I'd like to study your technique.

Thanks everyone for your comments!

Skinny, I did not intend to save this one so I just resized the origional. I made a real quick demo for you though. This is how I did the water for this painting, but not normally how I would paint water.

I first covered the canvas in a dark blue, then painted over it with the other colors using the Artist/impressionist brush. Looks a bit odd in the demo.
