View Full Version : 24/2 - Sunday Night Drawing (TOPIC)

02-24-2002, 07:39 PM
Hi and welcome to tonight's Sunday Night Drawing.

The rules are simple. You have 2 hours to draw/paint/sculpt one or more of these in any medium and on any surface you like ...hoping you all have scanners or digi cams, if not please try these anyway and maybe you can post them later.

You have 30 min to select a drawing.

There are 8 images to choose from, all on the same theme: Medieval

PLEASE DO NOT FORGET to put SND (for Sunday Night Drawing) on your threads if you are posting outside of the main thread.

Remember to allow yourself some time to post your work before chat, which starts at 10:15 EST today in the Cafe Guerbois.
For those of you new to chat, go to the Community pull down menu in the upper left corner, select "Chat in the Cafe" and then click "Go!"

Maid Marion:D in the 20 minutes spare that I had this afternoon.
(But I wouldn't have done any better if I'd had 20 hours! lolol)
Vine charcoal 6 x 5 inches.
Was fun - thanks Sherville:)

I never had enough time to finish this. I`m rather ashamed to be putting it up amongst all of your terrific works. I had horrible paper and a broken pencil (but they shouldn`t take all the blame) This was really fun to do!! I love SND, this is my first time, and I never knew two hours could go by so fast! Thanks for the great project idea, Sherville! I`m eager to see what everyone has come up with.

Your reference photos were wonderful Sherville!! I loved them, and I think I am going to try some of them again!

Nice sketches, Sherville. I especially like the knight on horseback.

Now what's this about the reference photos? I really like them! I've copied two others to do on my own this week--the castle and the falconer.

Thanks for hosting another wonderful Drawing Event. These are so good for me, I can't begin to tell you. Like tonight, I tried the armour--NEVER would have tried this on my own. Don't think I did half bad, either. And I'm planning to finish it.

Thanks again, Sherville!

Oh yeah, Randy says to say thanks for all of the groovy pics! If you think that they're crap!... well, you can just think that, I mean, what makes you think you're the only one right, Huh? We're all wrong, is that it? :D Nice job on the drawings too, you did all of these in 2 hours too? I mean, really? Dang! I like your horse the best out of all, I think you do horses pretty danged good, if you ask me, and I know you didn't!:p
Thanks alot for hosting, you did really swell!

But I kept getting DNS errors when ever I tried to leave my "home" page after log in. Way too much traffic on the ol' Information Super Highway I guess. Perhaps I will have to try to down load an image and try a late entry. Just for S's and G's

Nuff Said

Last week I looked at every post and made a comment. This week I just haven't had enough free time to view all posts, much less to make comments. (Did a few and then had to stop so I could look at more posts - my computer's kinda slow!)

I do want to say that those drawings/paintings/sketches, etc. that I've looked at so far have been great. There's some real talent here at WC. I'm looking forward to viewing the rest as time permits this week.

Thanks, Sherville, for a great night!

Thank you for the great reference photographs Sherville, they made Sunday night another fun drawing event. :)

Hi, I'm new to this forum, and to wet canvas. Last week my hubby, Artdude, invited me to try the friday night drawing, and I loved it!

I missed the Sunday one, but I thought the reference pics were awesome, and copied one to try anyway.

I'm finding this is really giving me a big push to try to draw things I never would have, and I'm really enjoying it!

I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Welcome to WC, Artdudette. Glad you finally joined us. This is a great crowd, as you've already discovered. I feel the same as you do--I've been drawing subjects here I never would have bothered with on my own. Everyone here is very helpful and encouraging and your husband is a great example of this. I've personally learned more in my short time as a WC member than in any of the art classes I've tried off and on over the years. This site is a great motivator. :p

but I wanted to applaud sherville for the great pics and everyone's art inspired by them
