It is 70 degree here Long Island today... the warmth inspired me to paint something to express the way I feel about the promise of spring time and warmer months to come. This was a fun quickie... 45mins...

Painter 9... haven't upgraded yet.;)

Joel, this is terrific. I love this kind of quick study and of course one like this would take me mcuh longer than it did you.

About the upgrade, the only real benifit I noticed was that now painter and psp talk to each other. I use psp a lot so that was a good improvement for me. Of course, there are other things the uprade affected but they must not be ones I use.

Thanks everybody. There's actually a good bit more space around the girl making the scene look even more care free, but for posting purposes I cropped in on her.

Sher, thanks for the upgrade info. I'm actually not in a hurry to upgrade Painter. I don't see anything in the new version that I can't wait a minute for. When my workflow slows, I'll probably get it.

So nicely done!
Love the painterly strokes:clap: .
It always amazes me how a well done piece can be cropped and still stand on it's own:cool: .
Likewise "quickies" and studies that are complete and masterful that need no more embelishment. Kudos!

And, it got up to a brain-melting 40-degrees up here, and is clear & sunny. So I guess Spring has sprung:thumbsup: .

Just gorgeous Joel, it is one of those paintings where you see the detail even though it isn't really there. I can feel the warm Atlantic Ocean in the background. I grew up going to the beautiful NY-NJ beaches!
