ftb this is a unique piece:) It sort of hints toward a quadraped but is also abstract. I think it would add interest to see it paired up with something. Just an idea:)

ftb, sorry about that, it's a phrase that I have come to use for four legged animals, quadri=four and ped=foot. For example humans are bipeds. My boyfriend uses it all the time (he may have made it up:) ):D

Hi ftb:

:evil:I just couldn't let this one pass me by I just had to jump into the fray. It's a newly created species a "Quadraped" quid-ri-ped (as coined by kokopeli) capable of mystical things. ;)
What type of clay did you use for your sculpture?
By the way I do think it has an interesting shape! What color will it fire out too? and will you be staining or painting it?;)
Thanks for sharing your work with us!

I'm thinking more along the lines of a donkey or a llama, because of those two long ridges along the top - horses have smaller ears. Definately very 'quadraped' looking though. It looks like it was carved and sanded out of stone. Was it? Personal preference - I wouldn't paint it, I'd leave it just as it is. Anway, it's really nice. Great job!

hi jeffi.. this is pottery clay.. i believe its an animal trying to escape from this form and just has not completely reveled its self yet.. you know i did no sanding on this at all i was able to smooth with my fingers to a smooth surface i feels real nice in the hands.. i'm still not sure on the finish.. if you have seen any of my watercolor paintings you'll see i'm a painter of extreme simplicity i like things simple but complex and i think this carrys over in all my art work.. if i have to do to much detail to complete a piece i get bord with it.. so i attack with simplicity i mind.. thank you very much

Hi fb!

This piece is great fun! My first thought was that this reminded me of an animal in the process of 'morphing' itself out of this shape and then I read your last post regarding this LOL It's fascinating and fun for the mind to enjoy. Thank you for sharing it with us. Have any more??? :)
