Hi,

I am new to posting on this site, but would appreciate some input on a double page spread which I have just done in an Art Journal which will be travelling around to many countries in the next few months.

TIA

Thanks Azyl,
How I wish I was, that journal is going to many countries that I would like to visit but it will have beautiful art from alll those countries, so that will be the next best thing.

Cheers,

Artizanne

Ok...so it will be a round robin type thing...where artists work on a page than send it to another?

Yes, that's the idea, it's having a couple of stopovers in Canada.

Nice work Artizanne - lots of questions:
Will it be returning to you, or will you not see it again once it is completed? Who will be the keeper of the finished work?
Please keep us posted on its progress.

Hi Sonya,

There are 11 artists from various countries who all make a Journal to their own liking, decorate the cover and do a spread with a loose topic, then each person's journal gets sent to the next person on the list, with a four week time line to do a spread. After 11 months, we will get our journals back home with artwork in them from the 11 artists. But in the meantime, we are posting our spreads to the group so that we don't have to wait the whole time to see how it is all coming together. Of course, it only whets your apetite because it is always so much better in the "flesh".

Hope this is clear, it is so much fun.

I love this! The way the illustration at the bottom covers both pages pulls it all together and the highlighting of the text areas by leaving them a bit lighter works very well. Bravo! It'll be so interesting to see this when it comes home to you, won't it?

Thanks Artizanne, I do like to know about the "nuts and bolts" of these projects. Sounds interesting and fun - quite a commitment for a year, but having a whole 4 weeks in which to do each entry must make it more manageable. What excitement when you get your journal back!

Thanks for your interest Sonya, it is so much fun doing this kind of art, it can be quite a challenge doing your art in other artists journals too.

Cheers,

I find things like this fascinating, can't do it but find it fascinating.

these pages are lovely, I really like the composition and use of Susan Sedon Boullet's image. Don't you just love art journaling? I couldn't bear to part with any of mine though! Your work is great.

Thanks Shari for your comments which are really appreciated. I DO love Art Journalling and am so eager to see the journals as they come around each month, and I agree it is hard sometimes to part with them, I had always planned to do a parallel journal with a similar theme artwork in it for myself, but of course, that hasn't happened. I absolutely love the image of Athena, it is my favourite without doubt and definately inspired that spread.

So do you do some Art Journalling yourself? If so, I would be very interested in hearing about what you are doing.

Artizanne.

Yes, I love art journaling and have been doing it for many years. I teach a class in Art Journaling and surface design here in my home town. We always have so much fun. I will enclose some of my pages from my older journals, as I haven't taken pics of any recent ones.

Beautiful pages Atrizane ( and Shari!)

I have several journal exchanges with other artists going on where we send them back and forth. When they are filled, we will each have a finished, completely different journals. A great way you share with other artists.

Wonderful work and Welcome to Wetcanvas!

Shari, your pages are just great, thanks for posting them. It's so good to find some artists on here who are doing similar things to what I'm having so much fun with. I'm really enjoying all the great information and friendliness on this site.

Thanks Lisilk, it's really good to be here.

So do you exchange art journals locally, or further afield. Two Round Robins that I am a part of, are both in Australia, but the other one is international, it's really great knowing that your journal is travelling to artists in several countries to be transformed, and it looks like some very special artwork in mine already, we have been posting scans of the spreads as we do them, but it will still be a lovely surprise when we get them home, because they always look so much better in the "flesh".

Thanks for the welcome,

Artizanne
