View Full Version : Corel Painter probs

I've downloaded the 30 day free trial of Corel painter, but for the life of me I can't get it to open. Each time I try it re-installs...then nothing! If anyone has any ideas what could be wrong please help. It loooks like a great programme and I'm dying to have a go.

What operating system do you have?

I think I've cracked it! Now all I have to do is work it out....?

Thanks Kareen! There appears to be only 3 or 4 usable functions on this trial version. fortunately though, one of them is the new oil painter thingy - (I've never used oils on a real canvas) and I love it! I'm using the cheapest of the cheap tablet to practice on (Steve's advice - thanks again Steve) so I imagine a wacom to be hugely better. I have discovered one thing....I don't find the tiny size A6 size to be a problem at all and I thought it would be. In fact, I'd probably find a bigger one a bit cumbersome on my tiny desk?

hmmm I thought I could play with the entire thing when I downloaded it...strange.

Glad you have got a tablet now, and glad you found the A6 size not to be an issue. Anything to show us yet ? :D

Nice one Gail! I'm suprised that your having problems with Painter's functionality. The demo version is the full package, just limited to 30 days. I wonder if you have sufficient free memory on your PC. Graphical apps do tend to be memory hungry.

I have 60.6GB of free space on dd:c...so I don't think that's the problem. Maybe it's me not knowing how to use it properly? I'll get there eventually!

It's not the space, the Ram is what's key.

192 MG of RAM whatever that means? Anyway, I think it's me that's the problem not the computer! I'm not too good at reading instructions - that's a man thing as far as I'm concerned. I did manage to get it all working this morning, bells, whistles, the lot! It's great.
