View Full Version : Apple Slices Finished
03-22-2006, 08:21 PM
I posted this as I was working on it in the "What's On Your Easel" thread. I think I have finished it unless you see something that needs attention. A critique would really be appreciated as I am trying to improve and I learn so much from what you all say.
It is 7" x 5" on Amersand Hardbord which I like but I think I like working on canvas that has been glued to the board, more. This is painted from a still life set up and reference photos taken of the set up. Oh, the signature on the painting is from Photoshop because I put the painting on my website and wanted the copyright in place.
Cheers and thanks :D

They look great!! I'm hungry now.
shows the oxidation of the cut surface and texture well, and I love the pips too. Am off to eat an apple!

Sandy, Bertoni and Leslie, thank you all for the comments and your time! I really appreciated the comments about the composition Leslie, as that is one of my weak areas (noticed that I said "one of" lol).

I like the comp too - the overhead lighting makes shadows difficult and you've done them really well Anne - the colours in them are great :D
I like the bk/gd colours too - very much - they're soft and set off the fruit beautifully.
Very believable apple sections, uneaten too long ;)
