What a great smile! :) ...but she doesn't look eastern...more western. Can we see the photo you worked from?

skinny: i would have thought the eyes would have given you a clue lol, still, ref above, and singaporean people are a mixed race with malaysian, chinese, indian and other trace elements as well :D
the girls are beautiful though......

anyway, finished now, unless something is glaringly off.....cheers

They are lovely, Krispee...people of mixed blood often have an especially appealing blend.

"Singaporean people are a mixed race with malaysian, chinese, indian and other trace elements as well the girls are beautiful though"

Even if in jest, the above sweeping statement carries a heavy racism undertone especially coming from a poster located in UK, a former colonial power of the place.

nafa: oh for goodness sake, will you let up, i haven`t a racist bone in my body, i was trying to explain to Skinny how that might have altered her perception of the asian 'model' or general person.....that we, as British, were once in power there has no bearing on art......
now get over it and start thinking art not race.....

Hey! Your studies look like completed portraits to me. I wonder how great the completed one will look.

cheers, jh, i`ve done a few completed works, may not have posted them here.....some though may look unfinished but i`ve felt they were finished, sometimes you can put in detail that doesn`t need to be there.....

I really like the way this came out. My only suggestion would be to lose the pen. I don't think that it adds to the portrait; it may even be a bit distracting.
