Hello everyone,

I've enjoyed the works after Masters submitted to the forum and I enclose the drawing that I made after the statue (or rather a photograph of the statue) that I liked. I am still learning about pencils and which are best for different purposes and since I don't really yet know I just try the ones that feel right at the moment. Sometimes i shows. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif Unfortunately, the scanner didn't manage to catch the grayish tones of the body and made it white in the lighter areas whereas it's realy not. I'd appreciate any comments and also ideas and hints on drawing after statues and sculptures.

Happy drawing,

Irina

Sorry Irena,
Ì`m new to this forum. Didn`t mean to repeat your posting.
It`s a lovely drawing. I really like the
furniture, especially the pillow. I would
recommend that you do a background to soften the outlines of her body. The outline on her arm is a little too strong. Also the shadow
on her lower legs appears too flat.
Great piece!

Thaks a lot for your comments. I will have some time with the drawing and see what I can do to make it better. The idea with the background did cross my mind. It's just that when I started I didn't mean it to become a drawing, rather a scetch but then I got so involved I couldn't stop http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif By the way, the object you thought of as a cushion was supposed to be some sort of vessel. :0

I thought that the lines of the cloth beneath her have been done very very well by you.
Sorry I can't offer much on drawing of statues tho, I don't draw much.
