Hello Artists!

The Weekly Pastel Sketch thread is for ALL pastelists, whether you are using soft or hard pastels, oil pastels, or pastel pencils. This thread is for ALL skill levels.

The idea is to fit some sketching time into your week by completing a sketch in one hour or less. You can sketch anything, whether it be from life or photos.

You can sketch for 5 minutes, or up to an hour, itís up to you. It's a good idea to time your sketch, keeping it within 60 minutes. You know how time flies when youíre creating! So, get your pastels out, set a timer, and when your time is up, please post your sketches here and share your efforts with us!!

Please check out last week's thread

Have LOTS of fun and I look forward to seeing all of your sketches!!

I called this porta la torta, a little boy gets to carry the cake home.
It's on that "bogus" paper my last free sample; it's about 4x5"

in class tonight we had to do a self portrait. We had 10 min. to draw ourselves and then color. So, it's kinda lopsided. But, with the time thing this is what it turned out like. We had all the time we wanted to color.http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/08-Mar-2006/73610-000_0438.JPG

Hey, good job Diane!

All I can say is, portraits are the hardest type of painting to do. Mine all look like cartoons.

Finally got around to doing some work. I have a small one day show coming up on the 18th, so I've been getting ready for that. (Wish me luck) Anyway, this one is just over an hour on mi-tentes paper.

I have not had much time for sketching lately! But I will, i will. My only sketches are the quick 10-minute studies my art instructor had us do of the nude model, and I don't want to have to taint this thread with the butt icon. :D

Beautiful horse! Love the contrasting halter with the gold. He looks like a king (or queen)!

Come on Debbie! Let's see those butts!! LOL
