I had made myself a variant in the bristle brush and went to paint this pic for WDE but I must have clicked the stamp thing and it took me awhile to figure out what was happening (near the colour wheel) and this is what developed Can't call it my painting but it was fun :D

Well this is very impressionistic. Not quite sure just what it was you did to get it because I almost never use any of the other features of painter than the painting tools. Is this on the reference, or a painting with a stamp, or ??

This looks like it might be the picture Van Gogh was working on when he flipped out and chopped off his ear!

Hi Jean,

Do you mean you had the Clone Color icon depressed (looks like a rubber stamp)?

I'm guessing what you found interesting was the way your custom take off on the Artist's Oil's Dry Bristle variant picked up color from the Clone Source image and smeared it. Is that right?

It is kinda fun and unless you want to obliterate details, the brush size has to be adjusted frequently. Of course when Clone painting, it's always possible to paint back detail easily wherever you want it using another brush variant that doesn't smear so much.

I hope you'll try some more with this variant and show us what comes of it.

Happy painting! :)

Hey Girl!! I like it!! The more you look at it the more it grows on you and if you really study it you can see all kinds of things in the painting. I call it painting because actually all it did was take the colors from that area of the pic. You did the strokes.

When you click the stamp thingy on the colour wheel your brush will then pick up the colour from whatever image is set to be the clone source, it make the brush a clone brush. but you can see from your result it would take a lot more than just slaping on the colour to get it to look like the image it cloned from LOL.

thanks for the input everyone but I'm dumping it now LOL, it was fun.

Edie once I seen what the brush was doing I was just dabbing any old way in fascination :D
