Hi there! It is time for a new thread of sketches and doodles. Come in and make yourself at home. Feel free to post your sketches or doodles, show off a little, ask for help, enjoy friendship of the best kind. I still haven't worked out my light for my sketch box, still-life set ups. This coming week, I hope to work that out. I have seem some new ones posted since Christmas, using a small light, but I still think I am going for a big 50-75 watt bulb. I really want some big deep shadows to work with. Feel free to stop in and say hello and show us your sketches or doodles. If you have a nice drawing, pastel, watercolor or oil study that would be nice to see too!
See you all doodling and sketching soon!
I went ahead and posted the nude icon, just in case. :)

My oil sketch. When I started painting this oils sketches, that are ofcourse from life and directly I took about hours painting and fixing. Nowdays I take for small sizes like this 8'' by 10'' between 40 minutes to an hour. It is a great exercise to do. I have showed other studies in Classical STudio thread. But I guess this will be a great place to show them from now on. :)
To cookie or not cookie - photo is not great, but the pear really stands out.

Nice sketches and doodles Rose :)
I have to rearrange my work area, not looking forward to it, but as it is now, I am not using my north light to full advantage, still need to make my black screen.
I like seeing your work. It really does help to see others work! Thank you and welcome home.
By the way, the cookies are a nice touch! :)

Oil sketch of a flower #1
I have a huge problem when comes to background color. I dont know how long I took playing around with this. It is oils, 10'' X 12'' stretched canvas. At least I think I am not totally hopeless when comes to see and match colors on the actual subject. I should have sticked to that brownish sort of vase I have, instead of changing the color to yellow oxide bg. Hubby said the leaves were not standing out with that bg, so I changed and changed, and that is what looks like. A big EEEEK color!!!!
Well now that I got over it.... I can :D .
