I did this yesterday from a photo I took in a game reserve 8 yrs ago.
Graphite pencil on cartridge paper
app 12"x18"

must be cool to see them in person!! I've included a picture below with some ideas I saw. You should take them with a grain of salt of course, I'm not sure I'm in any position to tell anyone how to draw!! http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I've tried to draw the planes of the various shapes and how they might fit together. the idea is to be unambiguous about the various planes of the figure. The horns have a front and side, the face has a front and side. I'm guessing that the eyes are slopped inward like a human, but that's just a guess.
Its a great subject, though, can't wait for more!!

Hi,
I've recently been to a zoo and I saw the giraffes and your drawing is good but the horns at the top(that's not what they're called...heheh) they're a bit smaller than what you drew them. the head is bigger and they are as big as the ears almost.

I went back to my original ... the ears are rather small in comparison with the "horns"... and the older the bulls get, the more pronounced the "horns"
