This is lovely Jean. Lushious colours and they do look good enough to eat though I wouldn't recommend it to other than the birds. As you so rightly named it...they're rose hips....albeit giant sized ones and you've captured them beautifully.

Good looking rose hips and they must be a lot until they could make jam etc. Thought that after blooming flowers should be trimmed.

You've really brought out the important features of the hips here. - Luscious colours & fascinating leafy things [sepals?]

I made Rose Hip wine a long time ago, it had a lovely pink tint to it :D

Here's my WIP of the Carnival girl using Painter IX .I used a grid of 100 x 100 to get my outline then turned of the grid and went from there here are a few images to show you what I did (hope I'm not boring you all :) )Used the grid on this one http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/26-Feb-2006/36920-carnivalgirl1.jpg
then the grid was turned off and went from there http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/26-Feb-2006/36920-carnivalgirl2.jpghttp://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/26-Feb-2006/36920-carnivalgirl3.jpg

The rose hips really pop against that dark background. They are an excellent source of Vitamin C, can be made into tea. Fascinating to see the steps of the digital painting, love here expression.

Oh goody. I am clueless how you all do these wonderful digital paintings. I love seeing the steps. Thanks for the demo. Will look for the update.

Your rose hips are beautiful!! And you have a great start on the carnival girl! Loved seeing your progress, I have wondered how one goes about painting on the computer. I can see lots of advantages, a big one being not having to buy art supplies! lol And another would be avoiding the mess I always have when I am working on art!

You've done a grand job on her, Jean. Such a serious little girl and you've caught that perfectly.
