View Full Version : My humble attempt at Lesson#1
Here is my humble attempt at lesson #1. Any ideas, comments, suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Other than the face, this was an enjoyable picture to do. I havn't picked up a pencil and paper since junior high so this was a lot of fun. I didn't quite know how to tackle the face plus I was tired and probably shouldn't have attempted it so late at night http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/eek.gif
Anyways, I have enjoyed the drawings posted here and look forward to more lessons....

Szia!...(Sure hope this means: "hello bk, and welcome to Wetcanvas!!!!)
bk - Just keep drawing! For someone who says they have not picked up pencil and paper since jr. high, you've done VERY well. The way you handled the baby, the hands, and the fabric is really very good. The head did not read very well in the original photo, and I really didn't too very well with it myself. I'll try to include a coupe more lessons dealing with constructing faces..but they are ALWAYS good practice. I find I have trouble drawing if I'm tired also...and usually never draw after a long day. You already display a lot of confidence with your line and shading..the fabric areas turned out well, your drawing displays skill rather doubt. I felt the angle of the baby's head would be a problem area for everyone...but you (along with most everyone else) seemed to resolve the features in an area that lacked much information. Nice construction, and AGAIN..I really like how you drew the fabric.
bk, hope you find (make!) time to tackle some of the other lessons..great way to start off.
I'll be looking foreward to seeing MORE of your work.---Michael

By the way...bk...do you and Gerak know one another????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!
Szia Gerak!
sajnalom, de nem vagyok Magyar, hanem laktam Magyarorszagon ket evig. Mar regotta nem beszeltem vagy irtam Magyarul! Azert olyan furscan irok!
For the benefit of everyone else, I will write in english.
Sandi, thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, it has been quite a while (almost 10yrs now) since I have seriously sat down to draw! http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif
Michael, It is funny that you mention the clothing. I felt that this was a weak point (besides the head of the woman!) I joked with my wife that the reason a lot of people like to draw nudes is so they don't have to deal with the clothes!
Future lessons on drawing hands and faces would be GREAT! Those are very intimidating for me.
Thanks all for the feedback!
Gerak,
Nagyon szeretnek gyakorolni a Magyar nyelvet veled ha akarsz! Kosz! Viszlat ~
