Welcome Judy!
We love to help out new friends here! http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gifWhat kind of advice are you looking for?
There are lots of drawing lessons in the Online Artschool section. Maybe that's what you are looking for? Or something more specific?

Ah..Judy..here you are! (Thank you for the kind email). And, yes, welcome to Wetcanvas.
I just read your email this morning, and I wasn't sure where you'd seen my work. Lots of great people here at Wetcanvas..let us know what areas you are interested in, and feel free to begin to post some of YOUR work also, I'd love to see what kind of work you do...even if you are a beginner.
Nice to see you here at Wetcanvas...Michael

Just paint or draw something Judy, and jump right in, the water's fine. That's what I did! Welcome and you will love it here.
