Dad's Red Lantern

Hi Everyone..

It sure felt different to paint inside from a set-up compared to being in the "open air"'. :) Actually, it was fun and a nice change from the cold weather painting.
This painting is oil on linen-board. It is 16"x12

"Dad's Red Lantern"

This one was a fairly quick one and I kind of liked the looks of it as it developed. :) So, I left it at this stage.
It is 14"x11" oil on panel. Again, fun..and no pressure.

That lantern piece is excellent. The lantern is perfect. You've got your shadows nailed down. The aluminum pot looks like aluminum. I like your choice of greenish background.

The resolution looks very low, those pixels are really showing.

I like these too, I think I favor the first one with the lantern, what is the container beside the lantern, it looks like a sugar jar that I have. We have an old blue lantern hanging in the barn, this makes me think I should bring it in and clean it up.

Love that first one, Frank. Nice composition, and the play of the color complements is wonderful. I'm glad to see you here still-lifing for a change! It is indeed a nice break when the going gets tough outdoors.

I would like to see a better image of these; they are showing very pixillated.

Thanks Jamie.. I will have to reshoot these pieces. I think that my other shots are "contaminated" :) (by me and a poor filing system :) )
