Hi you all, after a very long time I have started a new and quite big piece.
It's from our summer hollidays when we visited the city Dubrovnik in Croatia.
On one of the very nice streets I took a photo of this cat http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/images/smilies/cat0.gif
:cat:. Now I'm trying to paint it. This is just a beginning, I'm trying to get on the paper the main colors. C&C are more than welcomed.
Just one more thing: I deliberately changed the face of the cat. The original looked to me a little bit "frightening".
It's 45x60cm (17"x23") different types of CP.

What a nice picture Lanka, Looking good so far. I see what you mean by the cat in the ref looking a little frightening. This is going to be good.:)

It's already dark here and I can't see the color allright, so I will continue tomorrow morning.
Desktopflame, Marilyn: Thanks a lot for your encouragement

I'll keep checking in! I love this one. The strength of the vertical composition is wonderful.

One question- what color is the paper you are working on? Is it buff colored? The photos are somewhat dim, on my monitor, and I want to be sure I'm reading the color you have going right.
The update is beautiful, by the way.

Anne, joysetc: thank you
Marci: yes, the paper is buff colored, and the only part worked to more detail is the middle back. And also I took the picture with artificial light, which didn't help. Next time I'll try to make a better picture.

OK, I'm also still here, Marilyn:wink2:
Here is new update. I'm working only in the evening, so I can't see the colors properly, also the pictures are maybe not correct, have to wait till the weekend.
Thanks all for the cheering, after today I feel a bit more confident, that it will be worth as least something :) .
