This is almost done. A chair might go in on the left. It's oil on 20x24 canvas.
I vote "no chair" LOL This is fabulous it reminds me of some of Wyeth's work, the one with the dog on the bed especially. Very minimal, austere even, yet it speaks of simplicity and peace...oooooh I like this a lot. great size too!

Hi Robert,
I like it just as it is...the focus takes me to the quilt. This painting is very, very calming with great atmospherics in it's simplicity.

Robert, this has a lot of old world character and starkness. It's a great creation of atmosphere. I don't know about the chair.....don't really envision that in the scene. I'd be tempted to put something on the wall above the bed, but that would be the WRONG thing to do and would detract from the atmosphere that you've created! lol. This is a very unique piece of work. I like it a lot.

Hooray! I think quilts are great. It's a suggestion for a project of the month in the future!
You've done a great job with this one. Nice composition, everything. This is very calming.

My thinking was like Jamie's on this, maybe a picture of Grandma in an oval frame, but like she said, it would probably be wrong. I really like it. It looks like a bedroom from long ago, when everyone didn't have so much STUFF to clutter our lives.

Finished! Frame it. No chair, no picture. They would take away from the atmosphere. You have grandma's quilt...this whole painting speaks of grandma's room. It is beautiful. Put it in a frame and then put it in a show. You will win.

wow...lovely Robert!!!!!
whatcha needed was an "artist's friend" taking a nap on the bed and it would have amply completed what is so Sargent- like!!!
Love it....

Good job, just the way it is. It does have that "old world" feel to it. Fabulous.

OK, no chair. I thought about putting a picture on the wall, too, but I agree it might detract.
Thanks, everyone, for your comments and suggestions.
