Hi,
This is a small still-life, about 9 inches square. The medium is oil on canvas, and it was completed alla-prima in about 5 or 6 hours.

The painting is already sold, so I can't change anything, but any comments are welcome.

Beautiful rendering - I look forward to the time (far off, probably!) when I can paint this well.

It's probably a very challenging subject...

One thing, though: it's not really this dark, right? It looks really dark on my Mac monitor, which by default is a bit brighter than a PC monitor.

I just had to brighten it!

I know it's a no-no - please don't take offense if this isn't how it's supposed to look - but I'm intrigued by this work. I ran Auto Levels on it in Photoshop.

I'm amazed by the level of detail you get in such a small format. What size brushes, and what kind of canvas do you use?

Hi Andrew,
You're right, I did scan it darker than the original, and you got pretty close to the original. I don't mind alterations, so thanks for taking the time.
Lisa,
I used a 0 size sable to block in the colors and a 000 sable for details. I very seldom use bristle brushes because I use such a "Fat" mixture of paint. The consistancy, when I laid it on was about like Elmers glue.
Thanks for your comments,

Victor

This is a very nice painting. The shadows and the liquids in the containers look real and I wouldn't fault it at all.

Well done and thanks for showing it to us.

Victor....

Very realistic and outstanding still life.

The lights and shadows are great, as are the fluids.
Your style is unique

I have enjoyed the viewing -- Thank-You,

Hi Allen,

20-20...

Oh, did you mean EYESIGHT? I thought you meant I.Q.

Don't mind me, I'm blind as a bat...

Good job rendering the transparancy of the bottles. And nice shadows.

Better be careful keeping your painting mediums in the bar.
