View Full Version : teacher's fees

Hi there, quick question here. I have agreed to taking classes with an excellent Realist painter here in Holland. He is a complete professional, but also incredibly sweet. This is a problem because when discussing price, he has said I must make him an offer for teaching me to paint. Perhaps this is part of his culture, he is Uzbek. Anyway, I'm not really sure what to offer. I don't want to insult him, and yet I don't want to break the bank. The only reference I have here is that private language classes cost about 50 Euros an hour (just think dollars, though euros are worth more these days, I'll do the math). Anyway, what do you guys think would be a fair offer? I will study with him for three months and then decide whether to continue. It will be once a week for three hours at a time. I'll start Wednesday I think so if anyone has any quick ideas it would be great.
