LadyAlba! WOW, fantastic I can hear the roar and almost feel the spray!
Have you considered having it put on canvas?
01-29-2006, 09:40 PM
Why thank you Michael! Actually I spent the last couple of days setting up an area on my closed in porch for painting so I am thinking of painting this on canvas. Trying to get back to the traditional oils...although I love the not having to clean brushes with digital! LOL :cat: I have painted it large enough to print it out at a 10x8 size.

Pretty Marge. I love that color in the water! Gotta tell ya, I wouldn't want to be those guys in that lil dinghy though.

where to start; if this is painted, it is in a class by itself for the feeling of the great 19th and 20th century sea paintings, I have admired since a boy. I cannot do waves and oceans, every time I try, I fail, so I'm also jelous. One thing, because I'm a realist; the raft would last one minute in those seas, plus, I could'nt even see it, till the second look, (too small). I would at least have a long boat of some kind. Just thots, not commands.

OH I WISH IT WAS MY PAINTING LOL>>>>>>>You have done an excellent job!!!

Thank you so much for all your nice comments on this...Sherry, Greg, Aggie, Smokin, Jean, Kirk, Waheed and Kareen...I decided to take out the little boat since I felt the same way it would not have lasted the first wave that hit it and since I need alot of practice on boats/ships LOL they are not my favorite things to paint...I went with just the ocean in turmoil.
01-31-2006, 11:48 AM
Oh, please put that little boat back! It adds so much to the story. It was a great addition. And it looked fine!
01-31-2006, 11:56 AM
LOL Janet ... Oh I still have it I actually kind of liked it since I did this freehand on one layer I just made a copy and took the boat out for this one...but I still have the original. ;o)
01-31-2006, 12:18 PM
I like it best without the boat, Marge. I was actually visualising smaller waves, as in a rough coast. I didn't want to say though :)
01-31-2006, 01:20 PM
I like one with the boat. BTW, fantastic finish.
01-31-2006, 04:16 PM
Breathtaking!... mother nature in her glory!:)
Both versions are beautiful but i liked more the version with the boat because it tells a story, i agree with Janet :) :)
