I only had 2 hours, subtract 15 min cleaning up the frisket I spilled over everything, and it's still overworked. Shoulda stuck with the oil pastels.
But hey, it was fun.

Ooooh! pretty colors!
I don't know if it's overworked or not... I think it gives it sort of an impressionistic look.
lovely!
If this is overworked I should have kept at mine longer *S* This is beautiful *S*

You made me laugh so hard re: spilling the frisket. While you were doing that, I was spilling water all over my dry pencil and India ink and swearing a lot as I quickly tried to get it before it spread.
Beautiful. I love the colors and the looseness of it. Good work!

Thank you all for your comments.
The scan seemed to actually improve the picture, and after staring at it for a while I realised it was because it lowered the contrast. The high contrast in the photo, while very nice there, didn't work for me in the painting.
........So I overworked it some more! :D
I just uploaded the new version to the watercolor forum for advice.

And Cheryl, as it happens, it is on a Cottman watercolor postcard.

I like it - it's a bit sad but warm at the same time.
