Okay, I've finished the landscape pic. Deborah thank you for your suggestions and hope you think this alittle better.
this novice in landscapes tried to give it a shot. what the heck. I like experimenting. lol - Diane

Brad, when I try the pop up thing says they scaled it back to fit. Haven't tried a 22 so that's a thought...

Went to class tonight and talked to my teacher about the painting and how to improve it. And do something with the bottom. So, I'm going to do those things and it should look more finished. Great

Thanks Beanie. I was as far as I could go and my teacher has this wonderful spriit and can see things in art. The suggestions will make it complete. I learn so much from her.

Hi Diane...this is a very nice picture....you did an excellant job....a very good job on the sky...gives a sense of distance....and the light hitting those distant hills...beautiful....This picture reminds me of a Hudson River Valley scene here where I live.....Well, I wish I could do trees half as well as yours came out.....I was in Ireland many years and it is truly beautiful.

Hi, this looks very nice to me. I can't imagine working in a 24x30 size though! :eek: How long did it take you to cover that much paper? Nice to see this in a larger size than the WIP too, which makes it easier to see the details. I'm enjoying learning a bit about landscapes - still very new to me. I hope you are too and your should keep it up as this is very pretty.

very nice, Diane. like the orange trees against the purple hills.
i find landscapes intimidating, thats why i started out small -5x7...
like with anything and everything else, i work up to things slowly.
you on the other hand do not seem to be intimidated and jump right in!

Tatj. That can be my downfall. Jump in with both feet and hope I land. Some people think I'm either nuts or stupid or irritating. lol Maybe all. But, I just like to try new things and if I do it cautious I end up not doing it or letting my fear and insecurity get in the way.

I think you did a great job! I love the colors and sense of distance. Keep up the good work. And I agree with you....when I paint I try to be fearless...it's only a piece of paper after all! Did you work on this at your class or does the teacher have you work on other things?
