GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: Cityscape series
Year Created: 2006
Medium: Woodcut
Surface: Paper
Dimension: 6
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

MY COMMENTS:
These are four layer and five layer woodcut prints. I really don't have much of an idea what they are going to look like when I go into them. They are an exercise in problem solving as I piece the different blocks together in the printing process. I do not edition my prints but I do make a series of work with a similar feel.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
I feel that I could push my shaped further somehow. I am kind of in a rut with my color combos. I love these prints but I am itching to push myself.

I would like to add that I do not want digital alterations. I forgot to change that when I posted this.

Gosh. I love them. I like the muted colors, different shapes.

I was going to ask if you ever get specific w/ city scapes. for instance, i'm a junkie for all things new orleans.

do you have others?

I like this. I wish I could tell you what I'd change...but I can't pick anything. :D

Hi Marissa.... These are wonderful and so interesting to look at. They are so well designed and my eyes just moves all over seeing things and don't want to leave. Your color choices are great... soothing sometimes and slightly jarring at other times, it seems that I can hear the noise of the city. I think these are delightful. Donna

I want to make it clear that I do like these prints a lot. I am just at a loss as to where to go next. I don't feel that this theme is used up but I don't want to make prints that are just like these either. I want to add more to upcoming prints. Maybe I just get frustrated and worry that I won't make something good again too easily.

Marissa, you know I love your stuff.
And these are the strongest finest for me.

A city seen from the sky, or the prudential tower

Wish I could fly

We should trade work someday ......

But having a certain consistancy is also good and marks also a more serious approach to your own work. You will benefit also by slowly progressing and remaining close to what you like , and what you want to do next in connection to your previous works. (Which they are probably a "studying piece" for the next one )

Anyways :)
