Yep, sorry folks, but the carnations from the bouquet are still alive. :D

I haven't done a transparent red oxide underpainting for such a very long time. I thought it would be nice to revert to doing some of those again, and I'm so glad I did.

This is a work in progress...Small painting, just 6x8", oils on Hanson board.

Underpainting stage:

Starting to lay in color. Flowers and stems are almost done. Vase/bottle needs a bit more work. Shell and foreground aren't even started yet---that's just the underpainting showing here:

Hope to finish up later or in the morn. C&C welcome along the way.....

Dear Eric, Chuck, Jimmy, and Katherine,
The painting is done now...Just off the easel a few minutes ago. I'll update the first post too...save everybody the scrolling.

Chuck, I just love keeping the florists in business! LOL....Looks like I'll need more by tomorrow.

Jimmy, you're makin' me blush!

Edit: Grrrr....I see this isn't the greatest photograph of the painting. Sorry folks. It's a good thing I'm not a photographer. LOL

Nice painting. Maybe lacks a teeny weeny touch of blue in the shell - what do you think?

Nice completion Jamie. The next to last photo looked good. But the last is just a treat with the highlights and all.
