I love that first one Jan, it would look great huge, say 4 x 4 feet. Its totally yummy, perfect, I love the crop and the darks and lights, everything about it.
The second one seems like the flowers are hiding behind the big vase, I am not sure what to think about it. Its well painted, nice colors, its a strange mood. Its like the flowers are sneaking around, or is it just they want to be in the big vase? :D Lori
LOL:D :D I was going to call that second one Chinese Vase with Hiding Primroses or Chinese Vase with Shy Primrose or something like that...I'm terrible at giving titles to my pieces  I stuck that pot of flowers back there so that they would be in shadow and there would be a lot of overlap....just targeting some technical challenges that I find I need to work on...#1 getting dark/ rich darks in the shadow areas...I find this difficult with wc and #2 practicing the patience to wait for an area to dry before doing the object behind it so the edges don't bleed together LOL It's a bizarre composition I know
Oh yeah...I thought that first one would look good HUGE too!

That first one works for me JB. :) I think it's the values and edges.
Thanks Jimmy Jim. There's a big juried show coming up and the theme is "It's Hip to Be a Square" LOL I'm not much for "themed" shows but since I did this one I might do it over really big and see if I can pull it off!
