Title: Jerry wip
Year Created: 2006
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!
hello all, I am working on this commission, a tad overdue
MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
the hand...anyone know a good hand refrence site, or can send me a refrence?? when I started, the person who commissioned me to paint this wanted his idea brought to life in my style, and I thought it would be no problem, but now I need detail on the hand.....

This is a very fun and vibrant piece. I like your style, and use of color. I think the hand you posted in the second post works, although it might be a bit big.but I know you put that in for an example.

its really interesting to see a wip of your work. Your figures are so realistic when finished its interesting to see how they start out, at this stage it is very flat, its really intriguing to see your process to bring it to its suprizingly realist end. I look forward to seeing a finished product.

cool. I'm a Jerry Garcia fan and recognized him immediately. Seems right

I like the first hand positioning , just need to match the face in lights and color and include the folds in the fingers....this is a good time to use a mirror and your own hand or a digital shot. Very cool...TerryC

I like the 2nd hand. When I saw the first picture - my immediate reaction was that it was someone elses hand and they were trying to take off his glasses. The 2nd hand "goes" better with the picture. Just my opinion. Awesome, awesome picture either way. I really like it - it's orginal and colorful, a great portrait, and it's just fun.

his whole face looks like a mask to me it seems to have no connection to his hair maybe the hair line around the forehead is too dark or continuous. the new hand is heaps better . I love the vibrancy and and movement in the picture who is he and what does he do? great work.
