The weather stinks here GRAY, GRAY, GRAY:crying: :crying: :crying: And it is definitely effecting my mood  BUT....I have a cure for that...go and visit a greenhouse at the garden center. We have a great one a few towns away and as soon as I walked in it was so uplifting!! Tables full of green, alive, growing things and colorful flowers. Warm temperatures, lots of light and a wonderful goldfish pond with running water! AAAAAAAHHHHHH! Paradise in the midst of winter!!! I bought some primroses and chinese vases. They're really for my acrylic students to paint tonight but I couldn't resist trying them in watercolor.:D And you're likely to see them again in acrylic and oil because that was such a fun exercise to do, I might do it again!

Oh, so lovely!
You should take your plein air equipment to the greenhouse and get permission to paint in there for a day!
Cold here - wind blowing so wind chill is -10 this morning..... Cloudy, although they say the sun is expected to come out sometime.

Thanks Shelley...I've wanted to paint in the greenhouse...thought week days would be better fewer customers and less disruption to the store, but I have a tough time getting out during the week. On the other hand maybe they'd like the novelty of it!

Jan, what gorgeous vases and flowers! My oh my, your watercolors are really coming along. That chinese vase in the front is a very complex pattern. Yikes! Brave of you to take that one on! I'm glad you're going to do this again in other mediums because I really enjoyed the bouquet you did four times over. I thought they all came out great. I like the blue and white vase in the back left of this painting. It has the kind of detail that you can losely render and it comes across very well.

Jan its super! I like the one on the right the best. I like the purple and gold base and background, the colors go together very well. Lori

HI Jamie...I wanted that pattern on there but not reproduced too tightly and exactly...that is simplified from what's really there! The hardest part in this was getting the vases symmetric..I had to go back and correct and with watercolor that's HARD!

Oh Larry I WISH it really was SPRING LOL

Hi Lori...don't those colors go great together! I had fun just picking out the flowers and the pots !
