another try at a st bernard dog.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
How is this one? Am I still in the cartoon zone with these dogs? If you think it is still cartoony...please indicate how or what I need to do to make it more realistic. Any comment welcomed.

fagan.. maybe a little cartoony but I like it. Years ago when I worked with acrylics everything looked like a cartoon. Maybe switching to oils might help. Just a thought.

bev, yah, it still looks cartoony especially with the lavender background. BUT, so what! I love it. Leave it alone and go on.

My son has a St. B and he's a dolly, a big sloppy dolly!

ah yes! the lavender background, the cutsey bone collar and the simplified lines of the dog himself. These are the cartoon elements. No matter he is a lovely dog and should be acceptable for what he is. I had a ST Bernard, bigger than our car, with a tongue like a wet mattress, he soaked everything in his path. His name was Rudolph. Yours is much more endearing! I like him!
