MY COMMENTS:
This small island in St John harbor, New Brunswick, Canada was the first stop for the many Irish immigrants who came here in the mid 1800's to escape the potato famine. Thousands died of cholera en route or on this island where each passenger was examined and many quarantined for disease. The eerie ruins of the old concrete hospitals still stand amid graveyards, stone foundations, and a tall celtic cross. The island is uninhabited, silent, somber, and often fog shrouded.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
This was my first venture into glazing layers of yellow, red, blue, to create the atmospheric misty background. I wanted the impression of sunshine breaking thru the fog onto the lighthouse in the foreground with the ruins sort of disappearing in the mists. My difficulty was wanting softer edges on the ruins but using a damp brush to make this happen lifts the glazing layers and spoils the foggy effect. Any and all critiques & helps welcome.

From the very beginning on, in each stage, it is something I would mat, frame and hang.Very beautiful, and full of feeling.

OOOOOOOOOOO!! I'm loving this! You are very talented.

I find working wet on wet with a fan brush can give some nice soft edges.
