Show me some heart.........!

Since the time of year for valentines is rapidly approaching.....I am firing up my torch....getting ready to for some ' heart-burn '. Its been a lil' while since I made some heart beads and pendants. I know I did very well with them last year ( after I got thru the learning curve and the cracking woes).

So.....get me inspired glass artisans!....show me some HEARTs.

Its always a great inspiration and way to get into the mood and the rythem of making art when you can see the creativity others have.

So....if you have a heart....please share it.

I feel the same way Rich. I wonder if anyone would be willing to share any helpful tips in making hearts. Hmmmm? I would love to learn how, but I think I may be wasting a lot of glass in my attempts.

There are 3 ways that the mandrel can go through a heart bead .... I never know what I want as a final bead because my friends want everything!!

Mine I did after I read a tut by Mr. Smiley on lampworketc. It takes a few tries to figure it out even with a tut.

ok, you guys remember, I am heart challenged - here is my take on a heart bead.... dark ivory base, 28 guage silver wire, encased in light transparent purple. Here goes! - front and back views.

More heart from me!...I am having lampwork envy here. This is the first..and maybe the last time I attempt a hollow form by fusion!..it turned out incredible but what a labor intensive piece. This heart is completely hollow with a 1/4" hole drilled in the center back. I include a surprise beautiful bead for you to dip in your favorite essential oil or perfume and drop in there or just use the bead as a "rattle" if you don't want a smelly heart..LOL

Hi All!!
OK please bear with me I'm new here and sorry for the poor pic quality (if they come up at all) ...I was just lazy! But for my 1st share I'm sharing some hearts I made (actually for Christmas) for a woman I work with. :o A friend of mine was bugging to see them so I quickly took them the night before I handed them over.

Wow all your guys hearts ROCK! i'm Soooooooooooooo jealous. I"m only 13, and got my torch when i was 10, i just lately have been having more time to work with it tho. I have made about 3 attempts at hearts, and the two main issues i've been having are getting tweezer marks on the hearts, and making the loops (they just don't stay loops for me! they colapse back onto my beads so i wind up w/ just a glob instead of a loop on the final product :crying: ) If anyone has any advicea bout these problems, or a how to on making heart beads on a mandrel it would be GREATLY apreciated! mabey later i'll post my atempts

They are all nice &
I particularly like kitori's & calmwater's.
I have a few in Lustres but like Dichroic, it is very hard to capture the colors & shine in a photo. They are nicer in person.
