Had a ref picture (have no idea where I got it LOL) copied it and pasted in a new image added a new layer to the top of it and traced off the placement of elements then lifted the canvas layer to watercolor and deleted. Now using the ref pic as color and detail I started painting....this is 20% of the actual size So far I am using digital airbrush and flat grainy blender for the bricks. I am mainly blocking in main colors right now; some glow brush for the different colors on the container.

Love that brick wall Marge, looks like it's going to be another great one

I agree with Jean.:)

Marge, is there any glow brush.. . I create the glow by the colors and I keep on just one brush. Sometimes I move to different brushes but not offen.

Thank you Jean and Maria...The glow brush is in the FX brushes Smokin tells about it here (the 12th post down)

ROTFL>>>>>you really DO LIKE grapes, I think!!!!

This is going to be beautiful...

ROFL Aggie I am just determined that someday I am going to have some grapes that look like grapes instead of marbles or prunes :cat:

Worked on it a little more this morning now I have to get ready and go to the grocery store...not one of my favorite things to do! :(

01-13-2006, 01:49 PM

Thank you Sherry!

Worked a little more on it tonight Nortons is fixin to do its thing so I am posting what I have so far. Just to let you know I went out and bought a big bunch of grapes today so I have the real thing to look at. LOL Don't know if it helped but I felt better about it. Also I painted those cherries on the canvas and the pear is going to cover them so I will have to redo them when I paint the pear. :( Got happy painting grapes and thought that was what they were but...I was wrong LOL although they could become grapes before I am finished! ROFL!!

01-13-2006, 10:04 PM
Go around the cherries to paint the pear, just going a little past the cherries' edge, then you can just retouch the cherries.

Couldn't sleep so here is another update...I used the dull conte brush for the pear wanted the texture...

01-14-2006, 06:33 AM
Great to see your WIP will be following this thread beautiful it already is.

The pear looks fantastic, and that apple is stunning. I love this piece.

01-14-2006, 12:11 PM
Thank you PSPertje and Janet
I worked a little more getting excited now it is coming down to the end...did some more highlights and did the green/pink/etc. grapes LOL I have to admit looking at the real grapes really did help. Used the conte on the grapes for some added texture...although the resizing doesn't help ... it takes out alot. :)

Here is a close up...

I think this is one of your best pieces of art.

01-14-2006, 03:20 PM
It's turning out very lovely! Grapes look good and the pear has a nice glow to it. Sorry you couldn't sleep, I was the same way last night but it was because I took a nap earlier LOL!

this look nice...nice arrangement of stuff...:). just a couple of things i would add, it might be just me. one is the perspective of the glass, compare it with the jug's elipse, which is straight and rightly done and that of the plate/tray of fruit. the other thing is the stems, they are a bit too hard and prominant all over and get the whole attention. again that might be only me...:), so no worries.

nice setting there...all the best with the updates lady alba....

finally took time to look at all of this - wow, lots of time and work here! Reminds me of the other very detailed tablescape you did a while back. love the blues and purples and overall feel. With all your grapes, have you thought about a winery to go with it? (Gee, some of that weird spam humor...) Great job Marge!
