nude from life

[EFT Studios]

This is a piece about 9"x 12" on panel in oil directly from life. About 30-40 minutes. I posted this in a best of 2005 thread in the Figure forum and thought it might go in this thread too. I'm proud of it because it was direct and even though its one of my first oils...it didn't turn to mud! Just getting into oils and they are addicting!

Tracey, this is great. I really like your red background choice, the way you let it show through on the legs, and the way your lights pop against it. Very well done. I can't believe you're new to oils! Did you pre-tone the background with the red before you went to the studio? I want to see more! I can understand why you put this one into the 'best of the year' thread.

This is beautiful. Its simplicity and bold direct brush strokes really show confidence. This is a prize winner. You should enter it in shows if you have a chance. I like the touch of purple around the ears.
