MY COMMENTS:
This is an abstract textured style I have been working on and which I am trying to evolve. The curling of the 'texture' gives a gentle element to the straight lines. (The colour is softer ie as in the close ups rather than the main picture)

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Does the style work as an abstract peice or should I try creating forms with the texture?

I would like to hear any general comments on this peice and any advice would be appriciated.

I just looked up the definition of abstract as part of another thread. Here I will try to apply what I have learnt the meaning of abstract art to be...

This piece definately fits the abstract category and as such is a beautiful piece. I think that the evolution of your style will be determined by your personal exploration with your spirituality and your understanding of the medium you are using...the journey through this expressionist type of work is beautiful to watch! Its so personal!

Congrats,

Michael

I appreciate the closeups, it helps us see how beautiful this is in a tactile sense as well as visually. I am not a great lover of abstract art, but when I see work like this I am much drawn in that direction. Wether it was meant to be lovely or not I don't know, but in my mind it is...you know I can see the light of dawn filtering through the window of a log cabin and spreading across my grandmothers ribbon quilt....

That is so pleasant and peaceful and Corvus is "right on" it reminds me also of a beautiful old patchwork quilt patern.... the soft blended faded colors really work for me. Donna
