wow! what a sight! i like it!   what techniques did you use?

Thanks, Kareen! I worked longer on this than anything else I've done. The base was done with the Artist Brushes. After I'd gotten the impasto I wanted (you don't see it much in this scaled down version), I played with the colors using a pen.

Ah, I remember gathering all of my flowering rebutias together and taking that photo the summer before last.
People don't realise how well a lot of cacti flower. I have a 16 x 6ft greenhouse full of cacti.

Glad you found a use for the photo. The tall one at the back became so covered in flowers the following day, you could not see the actual plant at all, it simply looked like a pot of flowers.

Toni Marie..I live in Mexico and haven't seen such beautiful flowers...at least not on cactus! My room mates and I are planning to build a new home. I want to put this painting in the dining room. Thanks for visiting!

SIMMY..... I definitely use a wacom! My hands are pretty weak, and I wouldn't be able to work without one. Thanks for the kind comments.

AHA, I found the entire picture! Love it, and know it took lots of work. Now you know I love your stuff, but this background doesn't do it justice. An adobe wall? Brick in terra cota colors? A donkey ready to eat the flowers? Something to add cohesiveness. Please? THanks!
