Finally get to post a portrait. This is a small painting 5"x7" painted on Steel Gray Canson paper with my favorire NuPastes, Great Americans, Rembrandts and Terry Ludwigs. I'm thinking I may do a larger version of this...possibly a 11"x14".

Mike- absolutely a STUNNING portrait- in fact, I may like this one even BETTER than the last- and those wonderful lavenders and purples... hope you get at least $800. for this one.... I am simply drooling over your style with portraits.... so very wonderful....
Linda

PS- how long did this take you? I am still back on the crow....
BTW- forget this ebay stuff- take your things to the best gallery in town!!! Quit your day job, etc. etc.....

Hey Linda...I hate to admit this but I did quite my day job a few years ago...I use E-bay hopefully to attract new clients for the originals. Not so sure that's working yet...I do show at Deselms Fine Arts in Cheyenne.
This portrait and the crow took about an hour to a hour and a half....but the larger portrait may take about two hours:) you have to remember all the hundreds and hundreds sitting in the rubbish bin that I've done but every now and then you get lucky and one may work for you...

Stunning work. I can't believe this is only 5 x 7, it has a much larger presence about it. I think this would look great as an 11x14.

Yeah, great job. I can just imagine this as a LARGE acrylic (sorry, but that's where I hang out most often!). It would look abstract from up close, but stand further back and... wow!

Mike- great- about time :D
If I had not blown my next 4,000 years worth of money on art supplies, I would just put in a standing order to send it all here. Don't make me send you my big list of things to do with your art instead of the rubbish bin.... but hint- a high school art class would love it- even unfinished... one guy in watercolors tore up a painting and it made me cry for 2 solid days- and that was over Christmas- so perhaps you are not seeing things as others do...
cheers,
Linda

I love your very painterly style. This is so atmospheric both in the emotions evoked and the sense that he is emerging like a dream from some fog or mist. The neutrals and lavenders work so well as do the broken colors.

Mike,
I love your style. It's so misty, though that word doesn't do it justice.

Maureen.. ..I like the word misty!

What a treat for the eyes....eye candy, really. So soft and misty but fabulous detail. I love, love, love the colors. He just emerges from the paper. Yummy!
