View Full Version : The Airbrush Artist Next Door... again

Hi All!!
Reading about ADCooks bus tour got me thinking how nice it would be to actually physically know another person who airbrushes... and to see them do their art in person. I thought we could all put a dot on a map saying where we each were then, when/if we were to travel to someone elses neck of the woods we would know who we were near enough to possibly visit!
I put my dot in using microsoft paint...just left click on the latest map in the thread, choose save picture as, and then make your dot (in which ever program you wish)... let's just keep it a jpeg. Make sure you only update the latest and greatest, and, if you need help putting your dot on, I'd be happy to do it for you if you tell me where it should go.
For those of you outside of North America, feel free to add your own country map (not a copyright pic) and place your "dots" there!

Thank you
Glen

Hey Penny I have tried and it won't let me add China it keeps putting me in New York. I click on non US and put in Beijing and it says invalid city. When I try my zip code here it puts me in New York and I did not see a way to remove that marker. Any ideas did you set this up or do I need to contact their admin.

Sam, I deleted you and put you back in. I'm going to delete my test and let you do it yourself with your picture, options and stuff. Cut and paste this in the city after being sure to click on the country option Beijing, Peking (China) I'm not sure exactly how I did it but I finally got it to work and this is how it populated the field. Anyway, it should work for you now.

This is way cool. Thanks Doug for turning us onto it. I just checked out the other two you posted and hands down the east coast has the greater population of airheads. So how come the west coast gets all the attention?

Thats odd Sam, I see it just fine in Safari haven't tried Firefox but I would imagine it would there too. I just tried it in Tiger as well (my main machine is 10.3 for a few more days) and it worked fine in there also. Do you have your java / plug in etc stuff turned on ?
It was funny they split our zip code about 3 years or so ago, and its still not in a lot of systems, just had to put the old one in so I am now on the map.. I am feeling pretty lonely ;) though not as lonely as some, they are wayyyy out on the map!

Summer...I had a warm day here today, 35 celsius degrees ( 96 Fahrenheit I think) but in the south when sometimes we have some snow flakes the temperature was 42 Celsius ( 110 Fahrenheit ?)
One week ago I had to sleep with heavy blankets now the windows are open due the warm ( and it is 4:23 am here).
Some days ago we had a big storm , I was replying to a thread when I had to stop due the intense lightnings. Then we have rain for 4 days, I had at least 9 small leaks in my roof and a nice little waterfall in my room on the wall behind my bed :D ... but now the air is really dry here:confused:

Call me dumb but how is adding to this map better than the one Shani did? I can't see everyone at a glance and furthermore, if I want to find out where someone lives I can just view their profile on WC or ask them.
If you click on someone you see a text version of their location but only one person at a time and it isn't even in the right spot geographically.

Loks like it's not your first day with Falcons. Are you holding out on us with reference pics
Mya was my first falconry bird. She is a really big female red-tail. I flew her for three years. Female red-tails become sexually mature when they turn 3 and become very aggresive. Mine was no exception. So I made the painful decision to let her go back to the wild. I now fly two female Harris Hawks and love them both. Funny you should mention photos. I keep trying to get out when the sun is shining and get some really good pictures of my girls, but can never seem to do it.
Penny220
02-23-2006, 10:11 AM
You don't really need the sun. You don't realize what a gold mine you have there for artists reference. Close up shots of talons are impossible to find add in wings in different positions etc. I just read that there is an actual count to the number of feathers on the wings and tails of owls and I will assume that although the count is probably different for other birds to render one correctly we should probably look to see exactly how many feathers a bird does have on it's wings and of what type they are.
Any pictures you have to share would be greatly welcomed in the WC image library.
OK Penny, you got me to thinking. I will see what I can do and post what I can in the library. When I do I'll let all of you know.

Hello folks! I have just checked the map and found something interesting. We have made a line of friends and family that starts in Indy, IN and goes down to the Florida coast. Check it out.
(Glen big Iwata in Indy, IN)-to-(Got 1 4 Ya, Radcliff, KY)- to- (Flyer 615, Portland, TN to- (Colorfast Dave, Murfreesboro, TN) to-(Lunateck, Huntsville, AL) to- (Gene Black, Anniston, AL) to- (Jeannette Randall, Smith Station, AL to- Beth Bristow, Gainesville, FL) and on down to- (Cher in Hudson, FL). We are connected in sooo many ways.
There is another line that is beginning to form around Ny, NY that will sooon be a real contender.
