Hi everybody!

My "holidays" are over, now it's back to checking job adverts and tackling the task of filling out the form for the next sort of unemployment money. I'm used to the first, but absolutely HATE having to do the second... :(

Charissa - I also stay at home on New Year's Eve, not doing the party thing but being an extremely good girl! :)

Jerry - get well soon!

Pam - hm, okay... Rather than putting the cat in one room and close the door behind her, can you not just close all doors to rooms with chimneys and let her run around freely in the rest of the house? Or is it all sort of "open"?

Everybody -

Andee - What is different about this phase? I am sure the New Year will bring you the job you want.

I hope everyone had a great holiday, with New Years day falling on sunday I don't feel like I had much a a 'Holiday' I am off to work this morning but just want so badly to crawl back into bed. I am going to see if I can beg a day off this week.
cheers everyone!

Tam - good luck with getting a day off! What's different about this phase is that it's actually not really unemployment money anymore, it's being on welfare. And the money is nowhere enough to cover the monthly costs, I have no idea how I will be able to pay my bills, let alone buy food... And I just don't know how I will ever manage to find a job then, because a) one application costs me 17 or so $, and I would just not have that money anymore and b) the longer you're unemployed the less likely it is that a company will hire you... It's a bleak outlook for 2006... :( Sorry, didn't mean to whine and write a novel, but it's really depressing.

hi everyone - Tam I'd love to crawl back in bed too today. Hope you get a break soon.

Andee, wonder... CAN you write that novel? Or that bead instruction or eye candy book? Or start a jewelry or bead business? Teach classes, sell patterns/instructions.... Or a photography biz? Or any of those self-sufficient ideas? I hope you find a way for 2006 to be Bright and Shiney and Prosperous.

And no, about the cat, the house is very open - not many doors separating the various rooms... there are three fireplaces in the house and a big construction hole at one end and aside from not knowing that she would prefer to live in a chimney than a nice sunny happy room.... I really thought this was the safest place for her. She'll come out again one day and I'll do a better job closing up the fireplace. Eventually I'd like her to have free run of the house - or go back to living outside and coming to the door to eat every day. Her choice.

Well... off to find that coffee kick of mine.

Hope you have a nice day,
Pam

Hi Everyone,

Andee, since I am new to WC I haven't followed the posts long enough to know what sort of job you are looking for...or the type of work you do. With your beautiful photography I presumed that was how you made your living... I will put you and your new job on my prayer list.

Pam, with 5 cats of my own I have so enjoyed reading about the exploits of your new house guest. The chimney is one spot none of mine have found....yet.

I am off work today and need to be up cleaning house....my Sweetie is coming for a long overdue visit on Thurs.

Andee, the job front has got to improve for you. There is something out there for you somewhere. One of the problems I had in finding jobs was that I was over qualified and companies did not want to take a chance on me. That is why I turned to the temp agencies. I know that is not what you want to do, but it may be your way out of the welfare line. Pam has some good ideas for you until you find a job, or you may find you can make a living doing one or more of those things. BTW what is on that rope?

Tam, I hope you get that day off this week.

Pam, how do the dogs get along with the cat?

Debi, good house cleaning to you:D

Well, I have had to let the girl go that was cleaning my house. She would not show up when we had set times and then her phone was disconnected. I checked with one of the ladies at church and found another girl that is interested in doing some work. She is only 15 but I have heard that she does good work and is dependable. Just what I am looking for.

We are expecting more rain for today and the rest of the week. It is good to have the water but so yucky to have the gray sky. I had rather it be snowing.

Hi Charissa, they don't LOL - well one does and the cat is petrified of the other one - I had her indoors for about 6 months until Zoe got too big for her to handle - and I was pregnant and we were starting the remodel - it was all too much for her and she became a full time outdoor cat at that point. She's older and tamer these days, but I'm not sure if she is wiser. When we first brought her in she was still part kitten and WILD. She litterally bounced off the walls in an attempt to find a way out of the house - it was kind of frightening to watch.

Hope your new cleaner works out better for you!

Pam

Hey guys! I went to work, then to the emergency room. Seems I was having a hard time breathing and it was causing my pulse to go up to 136, Add to that the cold medicine I was taking and it wasn't purty. So after spending 4 hours in the ER, a breathing treatment, and of course$50. I am home for today with an inhaler every 4 hours and need to be checked for asthma from my reg. dr this week. Oh and no sick time yet, so I lost about $100. from leaving work early. Oh Yeah.
Andee, I will lite a green candle for you tonight, and will hope for the very best-your photos are stunning, and you enjoy them. There has to be a way to make a living from them. Have faith! You ARE looking, and it's a short term help, we all need help at some point.
To all the cats out there, I asked mine, and they suggested a empty box with a towel in a quiet corner, or part of my peanut butter & jelly sandwich, not sure which but discovered Spaz likes PB & J!!!
Have a great afternoon, it's nap time for me!

Hi guys,
I haven't posted in here for quite a while. I quit working at my business to stay at home with my kids and find I don't have time like I used to. Time seems to go faster now.

Anyway just wanted to pop in and say beadbabe has 50% off sale off on silver beads. I needed some spacers for some bracelets I have been making. The 50% off made it about .378 cents per gram. :)

Happy New Year to everyone! I am hoping for good things for all of us this coming year.

Andee, I am especially sending good wishes and prayers your way. I can only imagine how discouraging it must be for you to have to keep trying in the face of such a tough economy where jobs are so hard to find! You have so much talent...I sincerely hope this year doors will open for you so you can begin to make money through your creative abilities!!

Tam, I am feeling guilty...I had the day off today since the 1st was on a Sunday. I'm so sorry you didn't have much of a holiday!

Pam, I'm enjoying reading about your cat saga. Cats are so funny! When they don't want to be bothered, they can find the darndest places to hide!! I hope yours becomes more comfortable and begins to venture out soon.

Jerry, hope you are doing much better by now!

Hi, Charissa! Good luck with your new cleaning person.

Hello to everyone else!!

Just got in from work.. I am sooo drained!

Andee, :( . At least you do have your beautiful jewelry to fall back on, as much as I know it pains you to think about selling it.

I know I promised to send things out last week, but I had to put it off until this week.. my work schedule, blah. I'll get out tomorrow and send things. I got tips today. They're crappy, but oh well.

On another note.. it's my birthday tomorrow (Jan 3)!!! Woohoo! It's not an important birthday, but oh well.
