Wow, it has been a long week. I have had the whole week off and the first half I tried making beads and they all went in the orphan box. So, that peeved me. Second, I had the after Christmas blues and my husband has been working from 7:30 am till 8 pm almost every day and I have been lonely. I know....pity part for Patty...Well, yesterday, my beads turned out great and this morning I am in a much better mood after someone showed me a random act of snow kindness! We got dumped on with about 6 inches of REALLY wet snow last night and I was dreading shoveling our long driveway this morning, especially since I woke up with horrible cramps (sorry fellas..to much info!) . Well, just as I started on the sidewalk, our neighbor pulled in with a huge pick up truck with a plow and within 2 minutes, the driveway was completely done! I had no idea he even owned that truck! I was beaming from ear to ear and couldn't say thank you enough times! It is amazing how something so small can make someone's day or even week better. Hope you all are getting out of any post holiday blues/ orphan bead making, etc. too! Have a great New Year!

I live next to an elderly woman, a VERY INDEPENDANT woman at that. But the day she called and had thanked me for shoveling her driveway and walk to her front and back door made it worth it. She likes to get out for the exercise, but she said she was loathing having to go out on that particular day as she was having some friends over from church and had too much to do inside to get outside.

I do what I can to help her out (until she yells at me, anyway) throughout the year. A simple act of kindness, regardless of when or where it is may not be realized upon its act, but knowing what an effect you can have on a persons day sure makes it worth it.

That is so cool Lori! I am happy that it made your day the way it did. Everyone needs a pick me up from time to time! It's a wonderful thing (and so simple) that people can do these things for each other. AND Wayyyy more important than most people realize. One RAOK begets another and another and another... and soon ya got people every where feeling better about themselves... their neighbors... everyone! How can all that ever be a bad thing? Never!
