View Full Version : Enjoying P-IX's Artists' Oils Brushes

12-29-2005, 01:00 AM
I've spent the last few days just exploring P-IX's brushes and my favorite set of brushes so far are the Artists' Oils. I like the "juicy" feel that I get from them. Also, the somewhat atmospheric quality. So, now, I'm adding yet another painting style to my quiver.

I'll use this thread to post examples as I work through them. This was inspired by a Batman movie poster.

Digistyle, that's good. The bg colors are just right with the black of my friend batman. Like the broad strokes too.

Your quiver is getting quite full, Digi! Have you used the bristle oil brush?...it's my favorite. Joel and Maria get great results with the chunky oil, but I can't seem to control it.

Digi, welcome to the Artist's Oil club. I agree, what a great group of variants! They work nicely with your style too. Look forward to more of your posts.:)

Thanks for the comments, folks! I'm getting booted off of the computer, but I thought I post the next one before I go.

I started out using Dan Milligan's tute (http://www.corel.com/painterix/masters/bio_dan_milligan.html) though I adapted it as I went along.

Artists Oils, Oil Pastel, coupla refs & a bit of imagination.

Digi, your brush work is adding a lot to your work! I really like Sir Lancelot.
