I couldn't get my mother-in-law off the phone and was in a dark mood by the time I got to this... ;)

Dark mood? - then Gothic is the way to go;)
Very nice use of light and dark - bold drawing, makes you stop and look!
lol....and it looks moody and dramatic like that too, I like this alot.
Some of the most dramatic pictures come from dark moods I think:)

Yes! Charcoal was perfect for this one and you definitely captured the 'mood' of an old castle-I think that since you did it so quickly it added to the freshness of your drawing...maybe the dark mood helped too...:evil:

Pretty impressive for 20 minutes.
PS I can see your mother in laws influence. There a dark stormy mood in this one.

Wow! I love that dark atmosphere. Can tell you were in a dark mood :D
How'd you get charcoal to look that good? I thought that was impossible! (Charcoal hates me) :)
