Hi all. I am illustrating a children story book. First time I am doing such job:eek:. Basically I am portrait and still life painter. So dont have much experience in illustration.
I have to draw kids about 6 to 8 years old from scrap . I am not bad at figure drawing as I can draw figure by imagination. But I am bit confused about postures. Wonders if the children of this age sit in such way. And if you can tell me that I got the age also.
Corel Painter 9 and Corel Photopaint 12 with tablet. Any type of c&c is welcome for improvement.

Maria, the posture and age seem fine to me. Be careful with the size of the hands... make sure you keep them consitent. The boy on the top hands seems larger than the same boy on the bottom... also, the girls hands seem to be different sizes... one being too small. Overall, these look just great!:)

Congrats on the illustrating job. If you haven't done it already, I'd suggest that you create model sheets for each of the characters. They'll help you keep your characters on model throughout the assignment.
Here's a link to some Disney model sheets you might want to reference:
Good luck on the project!

Very nice, I tend to think the postures of the second are more natural. I agree to watch the hands. Both of the girls' left hands seem to be small. I love the simplicity of these.

Thanks all for lurking in and for the help. It will really help me.
Kristen and Edie thank you both for feedback.
Jean and Alba, I will probably look into Phil's work. He has a great command over this type of work. Thanks.
Joel and Elaine, thanks for the tip.
Digistyle, thanks for the link. It helped me a lot.

I don't see myself as critique so I'll just compliment you on the fine work. I use PhotoPaint a lot myself, it's a fine program. Nicely done!
