...How about starting a thread/project creating imaginary landscapes/cityscapes. No refs allowed. Imagination only. What do you folks think?

Ok I am determined to get something going in this program..ARTRAGE  Played in it this morning and this is entirely with it with the exception of my sig. 25min so I figure if I get really serious and devote some quality painting time to it perhaps I can get it to work for me...I did uninstall the program and reinstalled and it is working alot better! :cat:

It's imaginary! :)

Some real nice landscapes! The mist on the hills has always called me to paint, but usually on my morning commute, when I can't snap a picture, let alone pull over to paint.
So I decided to try some here, along with my favorite thing to paint in WC, rocks. I started in PS7, went to painter for the diffused watercolor in the rocks and went back to PS7.http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/25-Dec-2005/42008-fantasy-landscape-opt.jpg

Hi Kirsten!!
The piece was originally named "Drawing in Solitude", but a (musician) friend suggested "Writing in Solitude" as he usually does when writing the lyrics for his songs......then I just called it "In Solitude"....:D

this is a fun thread. i thought i'd show a few more..keep this going! this first one i did a few years ago with psp (8 or 9, dont remember). it was painting and lots of blending for the sky, and painting of the hills..then a mirror filter was added. i know a filter is cheating for freehand, so just look at the top..lol:p

hi, to put fire in the wood,
I'm posting another work. Only Photoshop, no ref. image, no filters, only imagination..
I remembered that I have a poem with this name. And I use to paint sun - rising or not - so this time I decided to change and paint a moon. Maybe the sky should be darker, as it's night, what do you think?

Well, if you know me..you know I am going to do the beach:D . Just from my mind........I did buy a DVD from Byron Pickering (check out the marine section on WC) and that helped a little with the water. I have only watched it one time, so better go look again LOL.. This was fun and thanks for doing this

Hi,
I had posted this image, but at the very moment I was posting I felt that it should be darker, as it is a night scene.
Someone confirmed it - it was too clear
Now I'm posting what I think to be the final one, unless you can give me any c & c or I notice something else.

artesplasticas - to be honest, the water, the shores and sky are so brilliant that it doesn't look like a night scene. I think the water and sky should be much darker.

Twisted Brush takes some getting used to but I agree that it is fun to play with! Your image is very nice. I like the lighting and the shoreline, all looks great!

Lotsa really great landscapes have been posted since I last visited this thread! It's too bad that we can't vacation in these spots!:D

I was so not satisfied with my first effort! I don't do many landscapes, so I did some practicing and playing. Here's the result...

I did a pastel, blended landscape, of some mountains and the hills down to the plain in the foreground. Hope you like it! :)
