I'm not one of these people who gives out glowing comment after glowing comment, but I've never seen a colored pencil piece that good. It's really great...the detail in the flowers, the reflections......I'm impressed.

Wishing you good luck as if that had anything to do with it .. the piece is astounding. The reflections are rendered with amazing reference to shade and detail.

Was someone saying that oils had the most depth of any medium?
Huh?
Didn't think so.
Colored pencils. Who'da thought. Wow.

This is exceptional work...and you deserve my five clap award.
However, I wonder what the judges will say about it.....why do I say that? Because of the shape/size of the work. Seldom do I see any panoramic size offerings winning awards. You may hit a tolerant judge .... but picking this shape of offering especially in a work where you put so much into it...for the glory/$$ may have been a mistake. Hope not and wish you well.

Thank you Nathan, Artist and Turner. Yep who would have thought...they're not just for grade school anymore :)
Vallarta, thank you for your comments. Over the past several years, there have been a number of long, narrow pieces that have won awards in the cpsa competition.
Judges are usually looking for a piece of artwork (even representational art like mine) that thinks outside the box. I'm not concerned because of the layout...and for this piece it was the only way to get the depth of field i was after.

Arlene ....this has to be one of the most beautiful pieces of CP work I think I have ever seen....but the way you have handled the subject with tenderness and reverence is truly wonderful...another format would not have worked as well....congratulations I think you have a winner here.....I think this painting will melt alot of hearts.
