My obsession with apples and napkins continues....

This is 16 x 16 on Wallis.

Whoa, Kim! Very nice. The shapes are very compelling. It's almost an abstract...if that apple weren't so touchable looking!

Love the glowing colors.

Kim this is really beautiful. The colours glow, there are interesting shapes and, even though its a 'still life', it is far from 'still' .... lovely movement in the curves of the napkin. I don't know anything about 'abstraction' and such but if you spueeze your eyes up the shapes and tones work very well without knowing what the subject is.

It is a joy to look at.

Very dramatic Kim with the apple the star of the show. Fabulous colours.

oh that's lovely Kim!

Thanks, everyone!! Deborah and Lesly, that's what I was after--I wanted something that looked quite abstract but really isn't. I like abstracts and I like realism, so I decided to go for some abstracto-realism, lol. I really like paintings that are kind of a surprise.

Really unusual! Those folds emanating from the central point remind me of a macro shot of a flower, but this is much more intriguing.

This is so well done, I cannot begin to praise it! Gosh, Kim, have you done a review of your work over this past year and congratulated yourself? You have shown remarkable growth in your skills in a very short period of time.

Kim, LOVE IT!!!!
The fire colors are just about my favorites and this is just so striking a piece!
I like how the little apple stem looks like the stamen of a flower and the apple is the middle of it...and then it feels as if the apple is on stage with moving theater lights directed on it....lovely with all the energy!

What a simply gorgeous apple!!!!

Thanks to all of you--your warm praise really makes my day!! I had my doubts about this subject matter, but it seems to have worked out okay, so it's on to the next one!

Kim this is one of your very best. The simplicity of both colour and design are what make it a superb piece of art. If it hasn't sold already, it certainly will soon.

Cheers, Dianna

Thanks Merethe!!

Thanks, Dianna--I'm glad you got to see it!

Kim, thanks for the PM and thanks for sharing. I am incredibly complimented that you like my stuff and that you can appreciate my weird sense of humor is frosting on the cake, but gotta tell ya, little lady--if I could make my colors literally SING as you have in this piece, I would be one very very happy camper. I surely do envy that.

Fabulous! The limited palette works so well here...the composition is terrific. It is a really interesting combination of abstract and lifelike....amazing how you have done it. And yes, you have made amazing progress over such a short time...you obviously were storing all this good stuff up there somehow. Good for you, lady! YOu have worked hard and it really shows!

Kim, I'm just going to have to stop looking at your paintings, because I have run out of superlatives to describe them! LOL. This is absolutely ________ ! Gee, what word can I use that I have not already? Stunning? Striking? Gorgeous? Fabulous? Incredible? Gosh, I'm sure I have already used all those already.

12-21-2005, 04:29 PM
LOL, thanks, Debbie!!
